THE OVERVIEW OF GEOMATIKA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

Geomatika University College (GUC) started as a Vocational Centre in 2000, carving a niche in Land Surveying. Noting a growing demand for such a specialisation, Geomatika submitted an application for college status and obtained the approval from the Ministry of Education.

Due to overwhelming demand, Geomatika established its Department of Geospatial and Land Development and launched the Centre of GIS (CeGIS) Short Courses Program in Geospatial Technology as well as Certificate in Land Assistantship Surveying.

As part of Malaysian tertiary education ecosystem, GUC has aligned its strategies with The National Transformational Program (NTP) under the NKEA, in tangent with the nation’s plan to be a developed nation by 2020. In 2014, GUC was awarded the status of a full university college by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) (MO).

Our continuous engagements with various stakeholders ensure that our commitment towards the delivery of the programs and high quality experience are being obtained by the students. In addition to the core subject matter, GUC also provides a set of soft skills that are necessary for students to succeed both in their career.

To date, Geomatika Educational Group has established satellite campuses in Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and Keningau. We are planning to launch other satellite campuses in Malaysia and abroad within three years. GUC is committed to provide excellent and quality tertiary education to local and international students.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Throughout the establishment of Geomatika University College, we have achieved a number of award & recognition from various agencies and bodies as a company or institution. We believe that celebrating success is important, but to encourage further success, the bar must be raised a little higher each time we accomplished an achievement.

E50 Awards – 2013, 2014

Geomatika Edugroup Sdn Bhd won the E50 Awards for two consecutive years, in 2013 and 2014. 1798 companies participated in the awards but only the top 50 were chosen based on key financial and non-financial factors. The vetting and evaluation process was executed by Deloitte Malaysia.

SCORE

SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement (SCORE) is a diagnostic tool used to rate and enhance competitiveness of SMEs based on their performance and capabilities. SCORE has also been used as a tool for business matching purposes for better market access as well as initial indicator for evaluation of access to finance. Geomatika Edugroup Sdn Bhd has scored 4-star out of 5-star in SCORE.

MyQUEST

MyQUEST is an instrument to monitor the quality of an institution based on students experience, infrastructure, program delivery and accreditation. In the last MyQUEST rating, Geomatika had scored 4-star for college-based. The next rating instrument GUC will participate in is SETARA which will be in 2019.

ISO9001 QMS

Geomatika University College has obtained its ISO9001 QMS for Technical Programs Delivery in 2012 and has maintained it since. ISO is a Quality Management System that is internationally recognized. GUC has been maintaining a standard operating procedures to achieve high quality and customer satisfaction.

AWARD

Geomatika University College has won Best International Students’ Office award by MOHE in 2015. 20% of GUC students are international students and we target to increase this percentage from time to time.

General Information

This MBA program is designed to concentrate on general management to enhance ability to evaluate and analyze evidence and implement appropriate solution in any business environment.

Entry Requirement

1.A Bachelor’s Degree with minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent qualifications

can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years of working experience in relevant field.

2.Proficiency in English  ( IELST 6.0 or equivalency)
